List of All Kinds of Restrictions for Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008 and 7

Many times people access our system and change our customized settings here and there. Wouldn't it be great if we can restrict them to change the settings and other things like restrict from changing Folder Options, Taskbar settings, Desktop settings, etc.

Today in this tutorial, we'll share a list of some important and useful restrictions, which can be put in Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008 and 7.

STEP 1: Open Registry Editor

All restrictions are based on Registry editing. So you'll need to open Registry Editor by providing regeditcommand in RUN or Start menu Search box and press Enter. After that go to the registry key mentioned in step 2.

STEP 2: Create Registry Key

Once you are in Registry Editor. Go to following keys and create or modify required DWORD value as mentioned below:

1. Restricting Desktop Properties

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD NoDispCPL and set its value to 1

2. Restricting Taskbar Properties

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD NoSetTaskbar and set its value to 1

3. Restricting System Properties

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD NoPropertiesMyComputer and set its value to 1

4. Restricting Folder Options

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD NoFolderOptions and set its value to 1

5. Restricting Registry Editor

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD DisableRegistryTools and set its value to 1

6. Restricting Task Manager

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD DisableTaskMgr and set its value to 1

7. Restricting Control Panel

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD NoControlPanel and set its value to 1

8. Restricting Command Prompt

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD DisableCMD and set its value to 2

9. Restricting Locking/Unlocking of Taskbar

10. Restricting right-click on Taskbar

12. Restricting drag-and-drop and right-click in Start Menu

Create new DWORD NoChangeStartMenu and set its value to 1

13. Restricting RUN in Start Menu

Create new DWORD NoRun and set its value to 1

14. Restricting Shut Down, Restart, Sleep and Hibernate commands

16. Restricting Active Desktop Feature

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD NoActiveDesktop and set its value to 1

17. Restricting adding/removing items to/from Toolbars

Go to following key:

Create new DWORD NoToolbarCustomize and set its value to 1

18. Restricting adding/removing Toolbars

Create new DWORD NoBandCustomize and set its value to 1

19. Restricting Autorun Feature

Create new DWORD NoLowDiskSpaceChecks and set its value to 1

22. Restricting "New" option in context menu

And delete the value of Default, e.g., empty it.

23. Restricting "Send To" option in context menu

24. Restricting any desired application

Go to following key:

Create new String value with any name, like 1 and set its value to the desired program's EXE file.

e.g., If you want to restrict msconfig, then create a String value 1 and set its value to msconfig.exe. If you want to restrict more programs, simply create more String values with names 2, 3 and so on and set their values to the program's exe file.

25. Restricting Drives in My Computer

Go to following key:

In right-side pane, create new DWORD NoViewOnDrive and change its value as following:

If you want more specific restrictions, like you want to restrict a combination of drives, you can use decimal no. instead of hexadecimal no. Following is a list for all drives decimal no.:

So if you want to disable a combination of drives, just sum their numbers and give the same value toNoViewOnDrive. e.g., for restricting C, D, E and F drives, give the value: 4+8+16+32 = 60

NOTE: You can also hide the drives using NoDrives DWORD value. The location and its value remain same as the above trick.

That's all. Above are some common restrictions, if you want to know about any specific restriction, please let us know.

NOTE: If you want to remove the restriction, simply delete the DWORD or set its value to 0

Today My article is little bit different and you would have got an idea by the title of this article. We have been constantly telling you about different freewares, tutorials and obviously latest news. But today in this news post we will discussing something very serious related to your health. Now you all know that we do have the habit of putting the laptops on ours laps while working on it. Now if we carefully take a look at the name of this familiar device ‘Laptop’, then you can see that it something which should be kept at the ‘top of your Lap’.

You may have not felt any problem, but as per different experts your testicles are seriously affected by this habit of yours. Scrotum or testicles have a certain normal temperature and if their temperature is raised then then the sperm quality is highly affected. Whenever you sit with the laptop on your lap and your legs crossed then you might not feel anything extraordinary but ,within only 15 minutes the temperature of the human scrotum crosses the danger level, which is really very harmful. Some of us might be using some Laptop pads to be safe but then they are also not the complete solution. Scrotum are really sensitive to heat released by that device and once they get heated they need huge amount of time to be at the normal temperature again. So its better if you put your laptop on the table and then work or you can just do anything to put that thing away from your lap.

Generally the temperature is increased above around 2.5 degree Celsius from the normal temperature of scrotum. Now, if I tell you about a fact which has been discovered in US then you might get shocked. People from the American Urological Association have observed that one of the 6 couples in US is having problem in conceiving baby and generally the root cause of this problem are men. Now, you can see that how chronically this problem may be and how disastrous can be its results. Story Of Appreciation

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.

He passed the first interview; the director did the last interview, made the last decision.
The director discovered from the CV, that the youth's academic result is excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never was a year he did not score.
The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarship in school?" and the youth answered "none".
The director asked, " Is it your father who paid for your school fees?" the youth answered, my father passed away when I was one year old, it is my mother who paid for my school fees.
The director asked, " Where did your mother work?" the youth answered, my mother worked as a cloth cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hand, the youth showed a pair of hand that were smooth and perfect to the director.

The director asked, " Did you ever help your mother wash the clothes before?" The youth answered, never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books, furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.The director said, I have a request, when you go back today, go and help to clean your mother's hand, and then see me tomorrow morning.
The youth felt that as the chance of landing the job is high, when he went back, he happily wanted to clean his mother's hand, his mother felt strange, happy but mixed with fear, she showed her hands to the kid.
The youth cleaned his mother's hand slowly, his tears dropped down as he did that. It is the first time he found his mother's hands so wrinkled, and there are so many bruises in her hand. Some bruises incite pains so strong that shiver his mother's body when cleaned with water.

This is the first time the youth realized and experienced that it is this pair of hand that washed the cloth everyday to earn him the school fees, the bruises in the mother's hand is the price that the mother paid for his graduation and academic excellence and probably his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother hand, the youth quietly cleaned all remaining clothes for his mother. That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.
The director noticed the tear in the youth's eye, asked: “Can you tell what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"
The youth answered, " I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'
The director asked, “please tell me your feeling."

The youth said :
Number 1, I knew what is appreciation, without my mother, there would not the successful me today.
Number 2, I knew how to work together with my mother, then only I can realize how difficult and tough to get something done.
Number 3, I knew the importance and value of family relationship.
The director said, " This is what I am asking, I want to recruit a person that can appreciate the help of other, a person that knew the suffering of others to get thing done, and a person that would not put money as his only goal in life to be my manager. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates, every employees worked diligently and in a team, the company's result improved tremendously.

A child who had been protected and habitually given whatever he did, he developed "entitlement mentality" and always put himself first. He is ignorant of his parent's effort. When he started work, he assumed every people must listen to him, and when he became a manager, he would never know how suffering his employee and always blame others. For this kind of people, he can have good result, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement, he will grumble and full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parent, did we love the kid or destroy the kid?

You can let your kid live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plate and bowl together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow grey, same as the mother of that young person.

The most important thing is your kid learn how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learn the ability to work with others to get things done.
