Uses of Ghost software

Ghost Software , is a programme, that when you install it into your Computer, it works away in the background and makes an exact copy of your Computer Software and all of your files.

Procedure to use a norton ghost software

Creating a Backup Image

Step 1 Start Norton Ghost. From the main program screen, select "Ghost Boot Wizard." Follow the instructions to create a floppy boot disk. Label the disk and keep it in a safe place when not in use.

Step 2 Place the Ghost Backup Floppy Disk in the floppy drive and turn on the computer. You may see some error messages. Ignore them. After a few minutes, you'll see the Ghost program display.

Step 3 Click on "OK" to start the program. Be sure to record the license number since you need it to restore from Ghost backups. Choose the menu item "Backup/Restore."

Step 4 Choose "Local," and then "Partition." Click "To Image." Select the source drive that you want to back up, which is normally drive 1. If you have more than 1 drive and are unsure which one is your source drive, determine the right drive based on the size and volume label. Choose the "C" partition.

Step 5 Scroll down to choose the location where the backup image will be copied. This could be a second drive in your computer or a CD drive.

Step 6 Type in a simple name for the file name. Click "Save."

Step 7 Select "Fast" or "High" for compression. Choose "Yes" to proceed with the partition dump. Wait for the image to be saved. Once the image is created, click "Continue," "Quit" and "Yes."

Restoring From a Backup Image

Step 1 Start the Norton Ghost program. Choose the menu item "Backup/Restore." Select "Local" and then "Partition."

Step 2 Scroll down to the location where you saved the backup ghost image and select it for the "From Image" entry. Enter your license key.

Step 3 Select local destination drive "1", "1" for the destination partition, and click "OK." Check the details carefully and click "Yes." This will restore your backup image.

The science of Vastu is based on the basic fact that man and nature, both are in equal harmony with each other and that they are composed of the same five basic elements. Both, man and the environment affect each other’s existence. Vastu’s principles establish to create a harmony between the five elements viz. Earth, Sky, Fire, Water and air in the environment.

Ancient sages of India applied their Vastu knowledge to mitigate the negative functioning of our environment and increase the positive aspects. Vastu Shastra is developed by people those who knew that our planet Earth is a globe and all planets including Earth are moving around the Sun. They also knew positions of every planet in our solar system with their speed of rotation around the Sun.

Five Elements

Earth:

The selection of site for building construction is very important.

Water:

The North-East direction is always auspicious and suitable for water. The flow of rain or fresh water should be towards North- East.

Fire:  

The direction of Fire is South-East. The Kitchen, fireplace, geysers etc. should be placed only in this direction. Alternatively these could be placed in North-West, because it is at 180 degree to South-East.

Air:

The air should enter the building from North -East. All the openings for air entry such as doors, windows, ventilators coolers, air-conditioners, verandahs, balconies etc. should be in these directions.

Space:

Traditionally every house in India used to have an open space (Court Yard) in the center of the house. It provided the dwellers not only the open sky but also sunlight and cross-ventilation of air.

 The directions of East and West are important as far as obtaining the energy from the sun is concerned. The importance of the directions of the North and the South lies in the flow of magnetic waves which flows from North Pole to South Pole.

 The principal Gods/ presiding deities of each direction are:

Northeast- Eeshanya- Ruled by Mahadev Siva

Best for main entrance, Pooja / worship room, meditation room, drinking water fountain.

East- Aditya- Ruled by Sun God

Best for bathroom, verandah, balcony, exercise room, main entrance for shops / banks.

Southeast- Agni- Ruled by Lord of Fire

Best for kitchen / pantry with cooking range / platform in the south-east corner.

South- Yama- Ruled by Lord of Death

Best for steps going up towards south or mezzanine floor.

Southwest- Pitru- Ruled by ancestors

Best for master bedroom, lumber, first floor extension or over head water tank.

West- Varuna- Ruled by Lord of water

Best for dining room, study room, toilets

Northwest- Vayu- ruled by Lord of Winds

Best for children bedroom or store room.

North- Kubera- Ruled by Lord of Wealth

Best for living room, strong room, porch, cellar, basement, open terrace, verandah.

Some tips for planning your house:

·    Columns in a building should be in even numbers. Columns in the north-east corner should not be circular. When columns are exposed for architectural purposes, the number of exposed columns also should be even.

·    Trees are representatives of prosperity and they should be planted in the South and West directions. Margosa ( Neem ), Eucalyptus ( Nilgiri ) trees keep environment fresh. Having Holy Basil ( Tulsi ) plant near the entrance of the house is auspicious

·    Placement of mirrors on South and West wall are inauspicious.

·    Doors of each room should be facing east.

·    While sleeping head should be in South or West but never in North.

·    Pooja room should be in North East. All idols and photographs should be facing East or West. Anything underground should be in North or East.

·    Anything above ground should be in South or West.

·    Face East while cooking, West is allowed if there is no alternative, but never face South while cooking. In the kitchen, grinder, fridge, shelf and other heavy items should be towards South and West wall.

·    Total number of doors and windows should be in even number for each floor, but should not end in zero like 10, 20, 30.

·    Never put the poster of crying girl, war scene, sexy scenes, angry man, owl, eagle etc. They are inauspicious.

·    There should be no water body in front of any entrance door of the house.

·    The best place to locate a swimming pool is the North East side. It is better to build the swimming pool in a corner.

·    East or North direction is the best for placing main gate.

·    Furniture, such as sofas, should be placed in the southeast, south, or west sides of a room. The house’s owner should sit facing north or east.

·    It is best when a student studies that he faces north, northeast, or east. Therefore a table in a study room should be placed in the south or west sides of the room. Books should be stored in the southwest side of the room.

·    Clocks should be placed on the west, north, or east walls. A television can be placed in the southeast side of a room. Always sit East-West for eating food.

On the right side pane look for “legalnoticecaption“, double click on it and enter the desired Caption(This is the Heading of the Notice).

Next below this look for “legalnoticetext” and enter the desired Text. The l text can be up to a page in it’s size so that it can include a set of do’s and dont’s for your computer.

After this just restart the computer and in the next startup onwards you can see the notice information for your computer.

Multiply Up to 20X20 In Your Head In just FIVE minutes you should learn to quickly multiply up to 20x20 in your head.  With this trick, you will be able to multiply any two numbers from 11 to 19 in your head quickly, without the use of a calculator. I will assume that you know your multiplication table reasonably well up to 10x10. Try this: Take 15 x 13 for an example. Always place the larger number of the two on top in your mind. Then draw the shape of Africa mentally so it covers the 15 and the 3 from the 13 below. Those covered numbers are all you need. First add 15 + 3 = 18 Add a zero behind it (multiply by 10) to get 180. Multiply the covered lower 3 x the single digit above it the "5" (3x5= 15) Add 180 + 15 = 195. That is It! Wasn't that easy? Practice it on paper first!

The 11 Rule You likely all know the 10 rule (to multiply by 10, just add a 0 behind the number) but do you know the 11 rule? It is as easy! You should be able to do this one in your head for any two digit number. Practice it on paper first! To multiply any two digit number by 11: For this example we will use 54. Separate the two digits in your mind (5__4). Notice the hole between them! Add the 5 and the 4 together (5+4=9) Put the resulting 9 in the whole 594. That's it! 11 x 54=594 The only thing tricky to remember is that if the result of the addition is greater than 9, you only put the "ones" digit in the hole and carry the "tens" digit from the addition. For example 11 x 57 ... 5__7 ... 5+7=12 ... put the 2 in the hole and add the 1 from the 12 to the 5 in to get 6 for a result of 627 ... 11 x 57 = 627 Practice it on paper first!

Finger Math: 9X Rule To multiply by 9, try this: (1) Spread your two hands out and place them on a desk or table in front of you. (2) To multiply by 3, fold down the 3rd finger from the left. To multiply by 4, it would be the 4th finger and so on. (3) The answer is 27 ... READ it from the two fingers on the left of the folded down finger and the 7 fingers on the right of it. This works for anything up to 9x10!

Square a 2 Digit Number Ending in 5 For this example we will use 25 Take the "tens" part of the number (the 2 and add 1)=3 Multiply the original "tens" part of the number by the new number (2x3) Take the result (2x3=6) and put 25 behind it. Result the answer 625. Try a few more 75 squared ... = 7x8=56 ... put 25 behind it is 5625. 55 squared = 5x6=30 ... put 25 behind it ... is 3025. Another easy one! Practice it on paper first!

Square 2 Digit Number: UP-DOWN Method Square a 2 Digit Number, for this example 37: Look for the nearest 10 boundary In this case up 3 from 37 to 40. Since you went UP 3 to 40 go DOWN 3 from 37 to 34. Now mentally multiply 34x40 The way I do it is 34x10=340; Double it mentally to 680 Double it again mentally to 1360 This 1360 is the FIRST interim answer. 37 is "3" away from the 10 boundary 40. Square this "3" distance from 10 boundary. 3x3=9 which is the SECOND interim answer. Add the two interim answers to get the final answer. Answer: 1360 + 9 = 1369 With practice this can easily be done in your head.

Multiply By 4 To quickly multiply by four, double the number and then double it again.  Often this can be done in your head.

Multiply By 5 To quickly multiply by 5, divide the number in two and then multiply it by 10.  Often this can be done quickly in your head.

The 11 Rule Expanded You can directly write down the answer to any number multiplied by 11. Take for example the number 51236 X 11. First, write down the number with a zero in front of it. 051236 The zero is necessary so that the rules are simpler. Draw a line under the number. Bear with me on this one. It is simple if you work through it slowly. To do this, all you have to do this is "Add the neighbor". Look at the 6 in the "units" position of the number. Since there is no number to the right of it, you can't add to its "neighbor" so just write down 6 below the 6 in the units col. For the "tens" place, add the 3 to the its "neighbor" (the 6). Write the answer: 9 below the 3. For the "hundreds" place, add the 2 to the its "neighbor" (the 3). Write the answer: 5 below the 2. For the "thousands" place, add the 1 to the its "neighbor" (the 2). Write the answer: 3 below the 1. For the "ten-thousands" place, add the 5 to the its "neighbor" (the 1). Write the answer: 6 below the 5. For the "hundred-thousands" place, add the 0 to the its "neighbor" (the 5). Write the answer: 5 below the 0. That's it ... 11 X 051236 = 563596 Practice it on paper first!

Subtracting from 1,000 To subtract a large number from 1,000 you can use this basic rule: subtract all but the last number from 9, then subtract the last number from 10: 1000 -648 step1: subtract 6 from 9 = 3 step2: subtract 4 from 9 = 5 step3: subtract 8 from 10 = 2 answer: 352

Assorted Multiplication Rules Multiply by 5: Multiply by 10 and divide by 2. Multiply by 6: Sometimes multiplying by 3 and then 2 is easy. Multiply by 9: Multiply by 10 and subtract the original number. Multiply by 12: Multiply by 10 and add twice the original number. Multiply by 13: Multiply by 3 and add 10 times original number. Multiply by 14: Multiply by 7 and then multiply by 2 Multiply by 15: Multiply by 10 and add 5 times the original number, as above. Multiply by 16: You can double four times, if you want to.
